Tottenham news round-up: Spurs plotting £52m bid as Thomas Frank provides update

Thomas Frank has not had a quiet moment at Tottenham as things heat up once more.

Tottenham secured a narrow win over Villarreal in the UEFA Champions League in a performance that can only be described as underwhelming.

However, a win is a win, and Frank has been doing a lot of that since arriving over the summer. So far, the Lilywhites have won three games in the Premier League and will look to make it four against Brighton.

But the week has not been without its hardships as Tottenham News rounds up the latest from Hotspur Way.

Dominic Solanke will not play for Tottenham against Brighton

Tottenham take on Brighton in the Premier League on 20 September as the Lilywhites look to seal their fifth win in the top-flight.

Dominic Solanke has been sidelined for Tottenham since their win over Manchester City in August. With Spurs fans anticipating his return, Frank provided an update on Solanke on 19 September.

The positive thing is he’s back on the grass, and he has been doing so for three to four days,” Frank said during his pre-match press conference.

He’s progressing, slowly, but he’s progressing. Too early for tomorrow and too early for Doncaster.

Tottenham could sell Yves Bissouma to Fenerbahce

Yves Bissouma had the chance to sign for Galatasaray over the summer. However, the deal collapsed during its final stages.

The Lilywhites have since been looking for a way out for the midfielder who is not expected to extend his contract at Hotspur Way.

Fenerbahce president Ali Koc has established that the Turkish side will add a “number eight” to their ranks in January, according to journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu via X.

With the defensive midfielder open to a departure and Tottenham willing to sell, this could be the last chance for Spurs to cash in on Bissouma. As a result, offering him to the Turkish giants this January could be a no-brainer.

Tottenham plotting £52m Morten Hjulmund bid

Tottenham are now showing a “firm interest” in Hjulmand, ahead of the January window, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes on 19 September.

Hjulmand is under contract at Sporting until the summer of 2028, but is understood to have a release clause of around £69million. It has been suggested that Frank sees him as the perfect option to add more balance to the midfield.

This comes after Spurs showed interest in the midfielder earlier this summer. The Lilywhites are thought to be preparing an offer in the region of £52m for Hjulmand.
