Tottenham news round-up: Kulusevski update shared, record transfer ready
Tottenham’s full focus is on their upcoming Europa League final clash with Manchester United, but there are plenty of other things going on at the club.
Ange Postecoglou is under huge pressure to deliver the trophy after a truly woeful domestic campaign, with Spurs falling to their 20th Premier League defeat of the season against Crystal Palace.
Tottenham are already facing a number of injury problems for their game against Man United, but there will be no shortage of pressure on the players and manager.
Daniel Levy is already sounding out managers and signings who could join in the summer in case Spurs lose, and a complete rebuild is needed.
Tottenham News rounds up all of the main headlines from Monday (12 May).

Tottenham close to Fabio Paratici return
Former Spurs director Fabio Paratici departed in 2023 after receiving a ban from footballing activity, but he is now set to return to North London.
It is claimed that Paratici’s return to Tottenham could be finalised “in weeks,” with his ban set to end on July 1, and an announcement can be expected then.
Paratici will link up with Vinai Venkatesham in a new-look executive team at Tottenham, and their first task may be to find a replacement for Postecoglou.
Spurs in talks with Xavi
With Spurs considering parting ways with Postecoglou, the Europa League final is set to play a huge role in determining who manages the club next season.
Postecoglou could still be sacked even if Tottenham win the final, and the club have already spoken to other candidates.
It has been claimed by Richard Keys that Spurs have spoken to former Barcelona manager Xavi, but the midfield legend is not yet ready to return to the dugout since leaving the Blaugrana in 2023.
Tottenham handed Dejan Kulusevski injury update
One of the biggest negatives of Tottenham’s defeat to Crystal Palace was Dejan Kulusevski limping off injured in the first half.
With James Maddison already injured, Spurs are running out of options for the Europa League final in attacking midfield, and Kulusevski has been one of their best players this season.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
Premier League | 32 | 7 | 4 |
Postecoglou revealed that Kulusevski’s injury looks like a knock, and that the next days will be crucial as they learn whether the Swede can feature in Bilbao next week.

Tottenham to make record offer for Victor Froholdt
Despite the uncertainty over their managerial situation, Tottenham are eyeing up summer transfers, and have now identified a key target.
FC Copenhagen midfielder Victor Froholdt is now a target for Daniel Levy this summer, and he will be allowed to leave, but only for a record sale fee for the Danish club.
Their most expensive sale came last summer as Orri Oskarsson joined Real Sociedad for around £16.8 million, and the fee required to sign Froholdt will exceed this.
