Spurs close to stadium naming rights deal with Saudi entity

Tottenham’s recent spending spree prompted widespread speculation as to whether Levy had secured new investment this summer.

As reported by journalist Ben Jacobs (11 July), Spurs are close to finalising a lucrative naming rights deal for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with a Saudi entity.

The deal is not yet fully agreed as there are still legal hurdles to be resolved, but the talks are already at an advanced stage, with Saudi Arabian government officials involved in discussions.

It would be considered a coup for Spurs if the deal goes through, as they have been patiently waiting for the right deal ever since the stadium was opened to the public in 2019.

Forest threaten Spurs with legal action over Morgan Gibbs-White

Spurs took everyone by surprise when it was revealed that they had triggered a £60million release clause for Nottingham Forest attacking midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White (10 July).

The England international had a stellar season for the East Midlands side, starring in the centre of the park as the Reds defied all odds to qualify for the UEFA Conference League.

However, Spurs’ approach has not been well received by Forest, who are considering legal action against the Lilywhites, as they never permitted the talks, according to journalist Rob Dorsett (11 July).

It will likely cause a delay in finalising the deal, but Tottenham remain confident of seeing the deal through.

Atletico end pursuit of Romero amid new contract claim at Spurs

Atletico Madrid have ended their pursuit of Cristian Romero after months of speculation surrounding the Spanish club, as per The Athletic (11 July).

The Argentine has been linked with a move to the Spanish capital for months, while his compatriot Diego Simeone brazenly called himself a fan of the defender.

However, after months of flirting with the idea, Atletico have conceded that Tottenham will not lower their valuation of the World Cup winner enough to make a deal worthwhile, and are now exploring other options.

It is also believed within the Atletico camp that Spurs are looking to offer Romero a new deal to secure his future with the North Londoners.
