Tottenham news round-up: Frank ready to sign Eze as transfer agreed

Tottenham are on the verge of finally bringing in their first fresh face of the summer.

Thomas Frank has only been in North London for a matter of weeks, but is likely already growing impatient as he looks to bring in players.

Spurs will be competing in the UEFA Champions League next year and will need to make improvements to their squad if they are to have any chance of going far in the competition.

Therefore, fans will be delighted to learn that a new signing is now close as Tottenham News rounds up the latest transfer news from N17.

Fabio Paratici update at Tottenham

As reported by The Telegraph (23 June), Fabio Paratici has a consultancy contract with Tottenham which runs until the end of August.

Therefore, even with the Italian’s 30-month worldwide ban from football set to expire on 20 July, Tottenham are in no rush to hand him a permanent role in North London.

However, there is little doubt that Paratici will still be involved in several important decisions at Tottenham this summer, particularly when it comes to transfers.

Tottenham prepare to trigger Eze buy-out clause

As reported by The Mirror (23 June), Tottenham believe they can finally sign Eberechi Eze this summer.

The Crystal Palace star has been widely linked with a move to North London for several years now, and the Lilywhites are confident that Eze would be keen on a move to Tottenham.

The easiest way for Daniel Levy to agree a deal for Eze this summer is to activate his buy-out clause, which is set at £68million, at which point any transfer decision would be made by the midfielder.

Tottenham could make a statement by signing Eze, with Newcastle and Aston Villa also linked.

Tottenham agree to sign Japanese centre-back Kōta Takai

It has been widely reported that Tottenham have agreed a deal to sign 20-year-old Kawasaki Frontale centre-back Kōta Takai for £5million, a record fee for a player from the J-League.

Takai is expected to become part of the first team, and his arrival could disrupt the likes of Ashley Phillips.
