Tottenham news round-up: Ancelotti appointment claim made, key man out v Liverpool
Tottenham face one of their biggest weeks of the season ahead, with the Europa League semi-finals coming up.
Spurs have endured a woeful campaign, with the Europa League their last chance of qualifying for European football next season.
Ange Postecoglou looks likely to leave regardless of what happens against Bodo/Glimt, but winning the competition is his only chance to save his Spurs career.
Tottenham have to play against Liverpool first, with their trip to Anfield a daunting one as Arne Slot’s side could win the Premier League title with a victory.
Tottenham News rounds up all of the main headlines from Friday (25 April).

Jamie Carragher rubbishes Tottenham Europa League chances
Tottenham know that if they get past Bodo/Glimt, they will face one of Athletic Club or Manchester United in the Europa League final in Bilbao.
However, pundit Jamie Carragher has now claimed that Spurs will not beat either side if they get to the final.
“I think you’ll get to the final. I can’t see you beating Bilbao in their own stadium in a final. There’s no way Tottenham beat Manchester United in a European final. No chance,” Carragher stated of Spurs.
Tottenham want to renegotiate Mathys Tel deal
Despite uncertainty over Postecoglou’s future, one deal is already in the works, as Tottenham want to keep loanee Mathys Tel beyond the end of the season.
Tel has earned mixed reviews since joining from Bayern Munich in January, with Spurs agreeing a £47.5 million option to buy in his loan contract.
It has now been reported that Spurs want to keep Tel, but want to negotiate a lower fee to secure his signature permanently.
Success in the Europa League would determine whether Tel wants to stay in North London, with the attacker seemingly keen on playing in the Champions League next season.

Heung-Min Son ruled out of Liverpool trip
Spurs are well up against it at Anfield, and with their focus on Europe, they may choose to rotate anyway.
Captain Heung-Min Son has now been ruled out of the trip with injury, with Postecoglou confirming that the winger would miss the trip to Merseyside.
“Sonny is improving, which is a positive for us, not for Sunday. Everyone else from the last game is fine,” he stated in his press conference.
It is unclear if Son will return for the Bodo/Glimt clash, but Postecoglou will be short of options ahead of what could be a long 90 minutes against Liverpool.
Tottenham told chances of landing Carlo Ancelotti
Tottenham have been linked with a number of managers with Postecoglou’s future uncertain, including Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.
Ancelotti looks likely to depart Real Madrid after their heavy Champions League exit at the hands of Arsenal, and Spurs could be interested in him taking the reigns next season.

However, former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson has claimed that the Italian is unlikely to accept Tottenham over other job offers.
“Everywhere he’s been, he’s had success nearly. And he’s one of the world’s best managers. Tottenham would like to think that they’re in the mix, but I strongly suspect that he’s going to get the Brazil job,” he exclusively told Tottenham News.
