Tottenham new manager shock as major Frank Lampard update drops
Tottenham could be on the lookout for a new manager in the coming months, and several names have been linked.
Ange Postecoglou looks likely to depart even if Spurs win the Europa League after a dismal domestic season, with fans extremely unhappy.
Postecoglou joined Tottenham in the summer of 2023 months after Antonio Conte was dismissed, with the Italian also leaving after his initially bright start fell apart.
Another former Chelsea manager has now been linked with a shock move to North London, with Frank Lampard emerging as a potential candidate to replace Postecoglou.

Lampard linked with shock Tottenham move
Lampard is currently managing Coventry City and has led them to the Championship play-offs, after failed stints at Chelsea and Everton in the Premier League.
The former England midfielder is now on Tottenham’s managerial shortlist, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes (25 April).

It is also claimed that Tottenham are interested in a shock return for Jose Mourinho, but Lampard is an alternative option for the Lilywhites.
Mourinho was sacked in 2021 and is currently managing Fenerbahce in Turkey, with it doubtful that he is keen on returning to Tottenham.
Lampard has had a transformative impact at Coventry, but serious doubts remain over whether he could succeed in the top flight after his last few jobs.

Spurs cannot hire Lampard amid fan backlash
Spurs have hired former Chelsea managers in Mourinho and Conte before, but appointing Lampard would cause a lot more fan backlash.
Lampard is yet to prove he can succeed in the Premier League, and as a Chelsea legend, there is no indication that he would even be open to taking the job.
Tottenham do need fresh ideas, with their latest 5-1 loss at Anfield turning even more fans against Postecoglou, but they are unlikely to buy into the idea of Lampard being the right manager to turn their fortunes around.
The former England midfielder could take Coventry up to the Premier League, and should he succeed, he may wish to stay at the club and continue his project rather than joining Spurs.
