Tottenham new manager: Odds crash on Man United hero after sack announcement
Tottenham have yet to decide if they will part ways with Ange Postecoglou this summer, while several managers have been linked.
Postecoglou lifted the Europa League but at the cost of recording Tottenham’s worst-ever Premier League campaign, and silverware may not save his job.
Several managers have been linked, including Brentford boss Thomas Frank, as his potential replacement, but a new candidate has now emerged.
If Postecoglou is dismissed, then Daniel Levy will have the task of finding his replacement, but this one may not go down too well.

Odds drop on Michael Carrick to Tottenham
Former Tottenham midfielder Michael Carrick established himself as a Premier League legend during his playing days and is now trying to make waves in management.
Carrick spent the last two seasons in charge of Championship side Middlesbrough, but having narrowly missed out on the play-offs, he has now been dismissed from his role.
Stat | Carrick |
Appearances | 75 |
Goals | 2 |
Assists | 11 |
The former England International spent two productive years at Tottenham during his playing days before moving to Manchester United and winning everything, but a shock return may now be on the cards.
As per Bet365, the odds of Carrick replacing Postecoglou at Tottenham have dramatically dropped, from 33/1 to 14/1, following his sacking from Middlesbrough, in what would be a surprising move.

Carrick not ready for Spurs job
Carrick did attract interest early on at Middlesbrough as he recorded some impressive results, but failing to make the play-offs in both of his seasons ultimately cost him his job.
The former midfielder is still just 43, and may still have a bright future in coaching, but there would be uproar if he is selected as Postecoglou’s replacement.
Although a strong performer for Tottenham, Carrick spent a lot more time at West Ham and Man United, and does not command a big enough status to get the Spurs job on name alone.
However, if Carrick does impress in the future, then Spurs fans may not say no to a return, but for now, he is not ready for a job of Tottenham’s difficulty.
Spurs will compete in the Champions League next season, but the pressure will be on to improve domestic results after a woeful campaign.
Carrick is not the way to do that.
