Tottenham midfielder signs new contract as official announcement made

Tottenham have tied one player to a new contract with the club set for a summer of uncertainty.

A host of changes are expected at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer.

Daniel Levy looks likely to sack Ange Postecoglou. Therefore, this would mean a brand new manager leading the team out next season.

However, that manager could be leading out a very different-looking team. Plenty of Spurs’ players are facing uncertain futures, including Cristian Romero, for whom Tottenham could accept a £75million bid.

Big changes could arrive in the boardroom too, with Fabio Paratici in line to return to Tottenham.

Therefore, with all of this uncertainty surrounding Spurs, Levy will be glad to have ensured one player has committed his future to the club.

For all of Spurs’ struggles this season, the young players in North London have offered a glimpse of what the future could look like. The likes of Mikey Moore, Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall have all shone for the first team.

And Spurs have been working hard to agree on professional deals with their Under-18 talent.

Malachi Hardy signed his first professional contract with Tottenham on Thursday (20 March). This was followed by deals for Sam Archer and Jamel Beggs.

And it was announced via Spurs_Academy on X on Friday (28 March) that midfielder Ronny Moncur has become the latest youngster to sign his first professional contract with Tottenham.

Moncur joined Spurs at the age of eight and has featured regularly for the Under-18 this season. In addition, he has already made two appearances for the Under-21s.

Moncur is a player for the future at Tottenham

At the age of 17, Moncur is likely to need some time before he is ready to play for the first team.

However, considering this is his first season as a full-time player, and he has already played for the Under-21s, he might need less time than most.

Therefore, Spurs supporters might not need to wait too much longer to catch a glimpse of what their latest professional talent is capable of.
