Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou not underestimating ‘strong’ Fulham side
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has described the visit of Fulham on Monday (23 October) as a “tough game” against a “strong Premier League opponent“.
Postecoglou’s side currently sit top of the table and will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start against Marco Silva’s men, who handed Tottenham their only defeat of the season so far when they knocked them out of the Carabao Cup via a penalty shoot-out at Craven Cottage in August.
The club’s next three games will all take place in London, and Postecoglou spoke during his pre-match press conference about whether that limited travelling offers his side an advantage, in quotes reported by Football London (20 October).

“Whatever the challenge is before you, multiple away games or three in London, that’s the challenge before us,” he said.
“We just have to maintain a real focus on the challenge we have and that we don’t allow ourselves to think about what’s gone before us and more importantly what’s too far ahead of us.
“What’s really important is we’ve got a real tough game on Monday night against a strong Premier League opponent.”
Alan Hutton spoke to Tottenham News about the club’s chances against Fulham:
“It’s probably the only blip since Postecoglou has gone down there [the cup defeat], he made a lot of changes for Fulham and they then went out on penalties, which was a bit of a shock.
“Considering they have not won a trophy since 2008, you would think he would really go for it.

“I do think Tottenham will have too much at home. I’m not going to say it’s going to be an easy game, because no game is, but I do think Tottenham will be too strong for them.
“Where they are sitting right now, top of the league, unbeaten, it’s quite incredible how fast Ange has been able to turn it around. It will be an interesting game, but I think Tottenham will be too strong.”
In other Tottenham news, John Wenham has described the appointment of Johan Lange as “hollow.”
