Tottenham make official Mikey Moore announcement after external development
Tottenham have made an official announcement after a new development concerning Mikey Moore.
Moore became the youngest Spurs player ever to play in the Premier League when he was awarded his debut in the competition by Ange Postecoglou against Manchester City in May last year.
This campaign has been a breakthrough season for the teenager, who has become a regular in the first team, most recently starting in Tottenham’s 2-0 Premier League defeat to Aston Villa at Villa Park on Friday (16 May).
Moore’s performances, especially in the earlier stages of the UEFA Europa League, have led to plenty of external eyes falling on the youngster, including German giants Borussia Dortmund.

Moore to compete in Euros with England youth squad
Moore’s rise in stature at Tottenham has seen the 17-year-old feature nine times for the England Under-19s since his debut at that level last September.
As a result, Tottenham officially announced on Monday (19 May) that Moore has been selected to represent England at this summer’s UEFA Under-19 European Championship in Romania.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes Played |
Premier League | 10 | – | 1 | 361′ |
Europa League | 5 | 1 | 1 | 307′ |
FA Cup | 2 | – | – | 114′ |
Carabao Cup | 2 | – | – | 30′ |
It is just reward for the Spurs academy graduate, who has experience on the bigger stage and has travelled to Bilbao as part of the squad preparing to take on Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League final on Wednesday (21 May).
An unexpected illness hampered Moore’s best run of the season around Christmas, but he has retained the faith of Postecoglou and could feature in Spurs’ biggest game since the turn of the decade.

England experience will benefit Moore and Tottenham
Postecoglou must be given credit for blooding young talent since his arrival at Tottenham, giving teenagers like Moore, Archie Gray, and Lucas Bergvall the platform to grow in the Europa League from early on.
Throwing the players into the deep end was a calculated risk, which has worked out on the whole in North London as the trio have emerged better for the experience.
It has also given these players the platform to perform in the Premier League, with Bergvall in particular adapting very well to the step-up.
The club will hope Moore’s experience in Romania has a similar effect, as the 17-year-old learns to cope with the pressures of international tournaments in foreign countries, which could serve to accelerate his development on and off the pitch.
