Now, Tottenham have announced (6 June) that Gray has been named in Lee Carsley’s 23-man England squad for the UEFA Under-21 Euro Finals, which get underway in Slovakia on Wednesday (11 June).

The Young Lions will face Czechia, Slovenia and Germany in the group stage in the hope of qualifying for the quarter-finals.

Gray will be important for Tottenham next season

The Lilywhites will be battling it out on the biggest stage in Europe after obtaining UEFA Champions League qualification by winning the Europa League.

While he may not earn a regular starting spot next season, Gray will be an important rotational option for Tottenham as they look to compete on multiple fronts.

Now that Postecoglou has been sacked by Tottenham, Gray might be wondering where his future lies, and he will need to work hard to ensure he impresses his next manager.

However, based on his debut season in North London, there is no reason why he won’t be able to do this. Therefore, Gray has everything to play for in North London, and supporters will no doubt be excited to see the versatile youngster continue to develop as Tottenham now enter the post-Postecoglou era.
