Tottenham make approach to hire Niko Kovac as new manager after Postecoglou sack news
Niko Kovac has emerged as a candidate to replace Ange Postecoglou as the next Tottenham manager.
Postecoglou faces an uncertain future at Spurs, despite leading them to the UEFA Europa League semi-finals.
The Telegraph reported on Tuesday (22 April) that the Greek-Australian manager is heading towards the exit door, whether or not Tottenham win the Europa League.
Daniel Levy is not wasting any time finding the successor for Postecoglou, with several managers already linked with the North London giants.

Spurs make Kovac approach
Kovac is the latest manager in line to be linked with the managerial role at Tottenham ahead of the summer.
Spurs are keeping tabs on the 53-year-old at Borussia Dortmund, as they assess Postecoglou’s future, according to Bild.
The German newspaper reported via their website on Thursday (24 April) that the London-based club have already enquired about him.

Spurs bosses are convinced of Kovac’s ability to hold his own in the Premier League, although they are yet to make an official move to hire him.
As for the Croatian tactician, he has always dreamed of managing a team in the English top flight.
While several Premier League clubs have targeted Kovac, Tottenham’s interest is said to be ‘concrete’, thus raising further doubts about Postecoglou’s immediate future.

Tottenham to pay Borussia Dortmund fee for Kovac
It is worth noting that it has only been three months since Kovac took the reins at Borussia Dortmund.
While the Bundesliga club only wanted an interim manager after sacking Nuri Sahin, the former Bayern Munich boss insisted on having a longer contract.
Therefore, he is contracted to Dortmund until the end of the 2025-26 season, meaning Spurs would have to pay them a compensation fee to acquire his services.
It now remains to be seen if Levy will move forward with his interest in the said manager, with several others also said to be on his wishlist.
