Tottenham legend rages at two ‘absolute joke of pundits’ after Postecoglou claim
Ange Postecoglou has been juggling his squad in Premier League games to protect key players for the Europa League final.
Many questions have emerged over Postecoglou’s strategy, with match-going fans predominantly suffering abject performances from second-string lineups.
An injury-riddled winter has undoubtedly left scars on the Australian manager, who even witnessed players on the same team in training collide with each other at Tottenham Hotspur Way.
With a 13-day gap between the victory at Bodo/Glimt and the final in Bilbao, Postecoglou is expected to reshuffle his pack once more against Aston Villa (16 May) to ensure the squad is match-fit.

Spurs’ focus on Europa League dividing opinions
Postecoglou’s priorities have been clear since the start of the Europa League knockout phase, since when they have picked up just five points in nine league games.
Stats | Wins | Draw | Losses | Goals For | Goals Against |
Tottenham | 1 | 2 | 6 | 10 | 20 |
Fringe and youth players have been exclusively used in these games, which has sparked conversation amongst pundits on Sky Sports live on air (12 May).
Sue Smith claimed that she believed the former Celtic manager feared injuries after being “decimated” by them this season, whilst Stephen Warnock thought that players need game time to be ready.
“You’re in a Europa League final, you can’t not be match sharp,” he said, before claiming that Postecoglou should “adapt your training, adapt your methods to make sure that they are fit and available.”
Former Tottenham defender Graham Roberts was unimpressed by the commentary, leading him to leave a brutal comment on X.
He posted, “Does anybody care what these 2 numpteys think absolute joke of pundits.”
Roberts made over 200 appearances for Spurs and solidified his legendary status when he captained the side the last time they won a European trophy, scoring in the second leg against Anderlecht to lead the Lilywhites to UEFA Cup glory.
Europa League trophy could change the club
Tottenham’s well-documented trophy drought has almost become a self-fulfilling prophecy, with players like Kane eventually leaving in search of silverware.
The mentality at the club has constantly been questioned, both from the outside world and more alarmingly from those trying to lead them.
The mantle of responsibility inevitably lands at the feet of Daniel Levy, yet they are only one game away from lifting the Europa League trophy, which could at least start to alter that narrative.
