Tottenham joy as Manchester City player officially joins
Tottenham have officially announced the signing of youth midfielder Dan Batty from Manchester City.
Spurs confirmed the signing via their official website on Tuesday (4 February) as the second youth signing after defender Luca Furnell-Gill joined from Liverpool.
Although all the attention on Deadline Day (3 February) was focused on Mathys Tel’s dramatic U-turn, who arrived on a loan deal until the end of the season after initially rejecting the move, Daniel Levy also had one eye on the future.
The 18-year-old rose through the ranks at Manchester City and now arrives in North London with the promise of developing into a first team talent.

To his credit, Levy did well on Deadline Day, providing Ange Postecoglou with much-needed reinforcements to bolster his depleted squad.
A deal was also agreed with Lens for centre-back Kevin Danso, who has also joined on loan until the end of the season with an obligation to make the deal permanent in the summer.
However, Tottenham supporters will be equally as pleased that the side is also building for the future and poaching talent out of Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester City, which is a remarkable feat.
It is a testament to how highly youth talents across the UK view Hotspur Way as the perfect environment to hone their talents and eventually become first-team ready.
Postecoglou has placed enormous faith in his academy this season, with Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear, in particular, enjoying minutes in the Premier League and Europa League.
Although the latter has departed for West Brom, a Championship loan move can hardly be seen as a negative as Lankshear will be handed vital experience in the second tier.
Nevertheless, the future is bright at Hotspur Way, and two more talented prospects have bolstered the ranks.
