Tottenham handed ‘huge boost’ to hire Inzaghi as Postecoglou faces sack

Tottenham appear to have been handed a major boost in hiring Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi after his recent comments.

The Italian will be looking to end the season by winning the Champions League as they face PSG in the final this Saturday.

They narrowly missed out on the Serie A title, with Napoli edging them out by a point.

Inzaghi puts Inter Milan contract talks on hold

After the season he’s had, one would expect Inzaghi to confirm that he will be staying at Inter regardless of what happens.

However, after winning the league already and potentially the Champions League, he may think it’s time for a fresh challenge.

Tottenham, who have qualified for the Champions League, have been linked with Inzaghi.

When asked in the pre-match press conference if he will be signing a new deal or staying at the San Siro, he admitted that it will only happen if they are the right conditions.

He stated that there will be a meeting post the final and also revealed that he’s got offers from Saudi clubs.

Inzaghi said: “I’ll meet Inter management after the final and if there are the right conditions, we will continue together. There are requests from Italy, from Saudi as well. But I’d be crazy to think about it with a final to play on Saturday.”

Tottenham must open talks with Inzaghi

Inzaghi’s recent comments suggest he’s open to new challenges and is aware of his stock being at an all-time high.

Spurs can offer a lucrative three-year contract to match his ambitions and provide financial security.

Highlighting their Europa League win and Champions League qualification could appeal to his competitive drive, especially after his success in reaching two Champions League finals with Inter.

Additionally, Tottenham can emphasise their attacking talent, which aligns with Inzaghi’s ability to maximise strikers, as seen with Lautaro Martínez.

Offering control over transfers could further entice him.

By presenting a clear vision for a potential Premier League title push in the future, Spurs can position themselves as an attractive destination.
