Tottenham goalkeeper sends thank you in new goodbye message

Tottenham will be well aware of the challenge that awaits them in the summer transfer window.

Having secured Champions League football via their Europa League win over Man United, Tottenham have a lot of work to do this summer to get themselves prepared for the new season.

Before any other decisions are made, one will need to be made on the future of Ange Postecoglou, who, despite winning a major trophy, remains under threat.

Once that situation is addressed, Spurs will need to get a move on on the recruitment front, with a big call to make over the future of their goalkeeper after a farewell message was posted.

Josh Keely shares message after departure

Tottenham have had a series of youngsters playing their football away from North London this season, with Will Lankshear, Jamie Donley and Josh Keeley among those out on loan.

The latter two spent the season on loan at League One outfit Leyton Orient, who, despite an excellent league campaign, fell at the last hurdle with Charlton beating them to a spot in the Championship via the play-off final.

Keeley played a huge role in goal for Orient, and wasted no time in sending a message to supporters ahead of his exit in the summer.

Writing via Instagram, he said: “Extremely disappointed with how it ended, but looking back on the past eight months was something of dreams. I want to thank the gaffer, staff, teammates and most importantly, the fans for the time I’ve had here. It’s a special club that will forever hold a special place in my heart.”

Tottenham will, of course, now have a crucial call to make on his future in the summer, with it likely that they will seek another EFL loan move for the goalkeeper.

Tottenham must utilise youth next season

With Champions League football now secured, the need for squad depth will be huge next season, and that is where thei youth system can come in.

The likes of Mikey Moore, Donley, Lankshear and even Keeley to an extent, could have a role to play, especially with many weeks containing as many as three games.

Development needs to be the aim for these young players, and Spurs need to decide which route is the best to take to maximise that next season.
