Tottenham get Brendan Rodgers answer in new manager twist

Tottenham are looking at new managers and have been linked with Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers as well.

Spurs may still win a trophy this season, but their domestic form has been woeful and they find themselves 16th in the Premier League.

Rodgers, on the other hand, enjoyed yet another good domestic season and won the title with the Hoops.

Rodgers guarantees Celtic stay for next season

It was claimed that the Northern Irishman could be tempted to take over the Spurs job should they decide to sack Ange Postecoglou.

The North London outfit are a side with Champions League pedigree and Rodgers’ past success managing Premier League clubs could’ve made him a candidate for the job.

However, it turns out that he’s not even considering the prospect of leaving Celtic Park in the summer.

After winning the title on Saturday, he was asked about his future, and in no uncertain terms, committed his future to the SPFL champions.

He said: “What I can say without any avoidance of doubt, is that I will be here next year – 200%… I’ve never been happier here.”

Tottenham must hire a manager better than Rodgers this summer

Tottenham must aim for a manager superior to Rodgers to restore their competitive edge and fulfill their ambitious potential.

Rodgers, while experienced, has shown limitations, particularly in high-stakes environments.

His tenure at Liverpool and Leicester City revealed tactical inflexibility and inconsistent results against elite opposition, with Leicester’s late-season collapses in 2019-20 and 2020-21 highlighting his inability to sustain momentum.

Spurs, a club with a world-class stadium and a fanbase craving silverware, requires a manager with a proven track record of winning trophies and managing top-tier squads.

A manager like Simone Inzaghi, who has worked wonders at Inter Milan or Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola would better align with Tottenham’s aspirations.

Rodgers’ pragmatic approach lacks the flair and adaptability needed to challenge the Premier League’s elite consistently.

Hiring a manager with a bolder vision and stronger credentials is crucial to maximising the talent in the squad, integrating young talents and re-establishing Tottenham as a force in English and European football.
