Tottenham gem Mikey Moore set for behind-the-scenes change next season

Mikey Moore will be looking ahead to the future after enjoying a breakthrough season with Tottenham.

At the age of just 17, Moore is already a UEFA Europa League winner after Spurs’ 1-0 victory against Manchester United at the Estadio de San Mamés on Wednesday (21 May).

While the teenager didn’t make it off the bench in the final, Moore still made an impact throughout Spurs’ Europa League campaign, grabbing a goal and an assist across five appearances in the competition.

Now, with the new season approaching, the Tottenham youngster is poised to undergo a behind-the-scenes change.

Moore will change in the first team dressing room from next season

Tottenham supporters will be keen to see what is next for Moore after this season, with the forward set to represent England at this summer’s UEFA Under-19 European Championship in Romania.

Furthermore, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham recently revealed exclusively to Tottenham News that he expects Moore to sign a new contract once he turns 18.

However, a new contract may not be the only change on the cards once the Spurs gem steps into adulthood.

As per child protection laws, young players must change separately from the senior adult members of the team until turning 18.

Moore will celebrate his 18th birthday on 11 August, which is five days before the new Premier League season gets underway. Therefore, the England youth international looks set to change in the dressing room with his teammates for the first time next season.

Moore may struggle for minutes at Tottenham next season

While the future is bright for Tottenham’s young star, he may need to take a backseat once the new season begins. As returning players are reintegrated into the fold and new additions look to make their mark, Moore may struggle for minutes.

However, depending on how deep Spurs’ run is in the UEFA Champions League, the Lilywhites could play over 50 games next year.

As a result, whoever is in charge of Tottenham next season could look to rotate fairly often, which would give Moore a chance to showcase his immense talent.
