Tottenham games Bissouma and Sarr will miss revealed during AFCON in new Frank blow

Tottenham’s Premier League fixtures have been released for the 2025/26 campaign.

Anticipation for the new season is high with Thomas Frank now at the helm at the London club.

Tottenham are set to face a tricky start to their season with trips to Manchester City and West Ham in their first five matches.

However, even if Frank overcomes these fixtures, he is still set to miss Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr for multiple London derbies midway through the campaign.

Tottenham could be without Bissouma and Sarr for multiple matches due to AFCON

On top of the new Premier League season, AFCON is also returning in 2025.

Both Bissouma and Sarr have qualified for the tournament for Mali and Senegal, respectively.

The competition is set to kick off on 21 December, with the final taking place on 18 January.

If both players reach the final, this means they will miss at least six Premier League games as well as an FA Cup tie, starting with Liverpool at home.

On top of this, the duo are likely to be called up a week before the tournament begins, which could see them ruled out of the Nottingham Forest game on 13 December.

Senegal are one of the favourites for the tournament, meaning Sarr is likely to be out for a good chunk of these matches.

Spurs duo unlikely to be missed by Frank

While it will be a blow if the two stars are out of action for a month, it is unlikely to be a big miss.

Sarr was extremely inconsistent at Tottenham last year with multiple questionable performances.

On top of this, Bissouma is linked away from Spurs this summer, meaning that Frank might not even have to deal with his absence.

Hopefully, the Dane targets reinforcements in midfield regardless, as Tottenham would be taking a big risk if they do not plan for AFCON.
