Tottenham forward apologises in goodbye message – ‘I’m sorry’
Tottenham ended their season on a low after a 4-1 defeat to Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The North London side can be forgiven, though, having lifted the Europa League trophy four days earlier in Bilbao.
With the season now over, some players face an uncertain future as the Lilywhites rebuild for the following campaign.
Indeed, one player has issued a parting message on social media now that the season has ended.

Future Tottenham star shares parting Instagram message
It has been a historic season for Tottenham in more ways than one.
Ange Postecoglou emphatically ended Spurs’ 17-year trophy drought by defeating Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final.
On the flip side, the North London side lost a record 22 matches, the most in the Lilywhites’ 143-year history.
With the season now over, there is time for reflection, with several players now thinking about their future.
One player who has enjoyed a successful term is Jamie Donley, who spent the season on loan with Leyton Orient.
The 20-year-old is highly regarded after a successful stint with the League One club, notching 18 goal involvements this season.
Jamie Donley’s 2024/25 League One statistics | Total |
Appearances | 39 |
Goals | 8 |
Assists | 10 |
Goal conversion | 14% |
Big chances created | 17 |
Touches | 45.9 |
Unfortunately, he was unable to guide Orient to promotion as the East London side lost 1-0 to Charlton Athletic in the play-off final.
Donley took to Instagram (26 May) to share his parting message alongside a photograph of him in the O’s kit.
He said: “Thank you Leyton Orient. I’m sorry we couldn’t get over the line yesterday but I wanna say thank you for all the amazing support this year and thank you to all the players and all the staff that have helped me on my journey.”

Donley would benefit from another EFL loan
Given Tottenham’s options in the forward areas, it is highly unlikely that Donley would get a sniff next season.
Furthermore, Spurs are now a Champions League outfit and will surely strengthen their squad to compete on all fronts.
With that in mind, the 20-year-old’s best bet would be to secure another EFL loan, preferably in the Championship.
England’s second tier has been a breeding ground for top strikers.
Indeed, Harry Kane had spells with Leicester City and Millwall before evolving into the hitman he is today.
Tottenham can now focus their gaze on the future, and Donley is a player making significant strides.
