Tottenham fans will love official announcement made ahead of Man United final

Tottenham supporters once again will be proud to represent their club after an official announcement made days before the Europa League final.

Tottenham will take on Manchester United at the Estadio de San Mamés on Wednesday (21 May).

Thousands of fans will be making the trip to Bilbao to support the Lilywhites in what will be the sixth European final in their history.

While Spurs fans have had to contend with a difficult Premier League campaign, several injuries to key players and few answers on Ange Postecoglou’s future, the club may still have a few more tricks up their sleeve to appease supporters.

Tottenham to wear traditional European strip for Europa League final

The Lilywhites have already put themselves in good standing with supporters after a screening of the final was announced at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It was initially announced that additional screens would not be placed on the pitch as a result of the Premier League fixture against Brighton on Sunday (25 May), a decision not appreciated by Spurs supporters.

Tottenham have failed to win all but their Europa League semi-final matches ahead of the final

However, Tottenham have since U-turned and now, days later, they have announced the kit colours that players will wear in the Europa League final.

In an official statement on Sunday (18 May), the North London Club said: “Our outfield players will don our traditional all-Lilywhite European strip for the showpiece match against Manchester United.”

“The kit is inspired by this season’s home shirts, which include navy blue sleeves paired with white shorts and socks, while the goalkeeper will wear the season’s first-choice yellow keeper’s strips.

“The Europa League final kit marks a continuation of a 64-year tradition that can be traced back to Tottenham’s first European Cup as English champions in 1961.”

The continuation of this long tradition is something that every Tottenham fan will no doubt love.

Tottenham have fate on their side against United

In what is excellent news for Tottenham, 2025 has been the year several clubs have ended their trophy droughts.

Newcastle’s 70-year-long drought came to a close after an unsuspecting win against Liverpool in the League Cup.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace made history in their FA Cup win against Manchester City after winning the first major trophy in their history.

While Postecoglou is on record confirming that he tends to win trophies in his second season, this current trend can give the players and supporters that little bit more confidence heading into the confrontation.

With Tottenham’s traditional all-Lilywhites European strip plastered across the backs of players and fate seemingly a friend, it may be easier for supporters to put their all behind the club as initially thought.
