Tottenham fan calls out Jim White live on air after what he said about Daniel Levy

Tottenham fans are not happy with Daniel Levy and Ange Postecoglou.

After finally spending money in the past couple of transfer windows, the Australian has failed to get the best out of his new players, including Dominic Solanke.

With injuries often used as excuses, Tottenham currently sit 13th in the Premier League after a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth where they were outclassed.

Spurs fans have had enough, with protests starting to take over on matchdays.

White clashes with Tottenham supporter over Dominic Solanke

Tottenham’s issues cannot be pinpointed on just one matter this season, but there are many who need to take responsibility.

The Lilywhites have been hit by an injury crisis, and although that’s true, the reaction to that has been nothing short of embarrassing on the pitch.

However, Postecoglou has also come under criticism for his lack of adaptability to suit the players he has available, leading to several defeats.

Levy has not escaped without protest either, despite Jim White praising him for the signing of Solanke.

Speaking live on talkSPORT (10 March, 11:58 am), one fan called in to remind White that he had credited Levy for the ambitious signing of Solanke, and asked: “What do you say about that?”

White defended his position as he replied: “Well, was it not a sign of ambition to spend that amount of money, that kind of money to bring in a top striker?”

However, the caller was not impressed with the answer and hit back: “Sorry, top striker? Did you just say top striker? I hope Dominic Solanke is listening to this because he’s nowhere near a top striker.”

Tottenham have many to blame

Solanke certainly hasn’t had the season he would have hoped for Tottenham so far, not least because of suffering with injury that has left him on the sidelines.

However, his goal return from the number of appearances he has made is not bad with seven in 19 Premier League games.

Furthermore, playing in a side that is struggling to find form is always going to have an impact on goal return and the impact that can be made at the top of the pitch.

While Postecoglou would pride himself on being an attacking-minded manager, his invitation to let other teams press high can often leave the Lilywhites under huge pressure while struggling to get the ball forward, which doesn’t make things any easier for the strikers.

Tottenham have to come back from 1-0 down in their home tie against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday (13 March) if they are to progress in the Europa League, so that will be the main thing on their minds in North London for now.

However, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Levy is thinking about what comes next as if Postecoglou gets knocked out of the competition, it could spell the end of his time in charge.
