Tottenham face anxious wait as Postecoglou delivers Kulusevski injury update

Ange Postecoglou has provided an injury update on Dejan Kulusevski, who was substituted as Tottenham lost to Crystal Palace.

Oliver Glasner’s team beat Spurs 2-0 in the Premier League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (11 May), with Eberechi Eze scoring a brace.

Mikey Moore replaced Kulusevski in the 19th minute of the fixture as he couldn’t continue.

Kulusevski was nowhere to be seen at Hotspur Way during training on Monday (12 May), and Postecoglou has revealed the extent of the Spurs star’s injury.

Spurs are waiting for clarity on Kulusevski’s injury

Postecoglou shared that Spurs are going to let Kulusevski’s fitness issue settle for 24 hours.

The Australian revealed that the 25-year-old picked up a knock on his knee. However, it doesn’t seem to be serious.

At this stage, Postecoglou is positive about the Swedish attacker’s situation. However, it remains to be seen how it develops in the coming days.

Speaking to the media via football.london (12 May), the Spurs boss said, “Looks like a knock at this stage. We’re going to let it settle for 24 hours, but the positive thing is it looks like a knock.”

Tottenham need to be at their best against Manchester United

Spurs will face Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League final on Wednesday, 21 May, with both teams struggling in the Premier League.

While the Lilywhites’ faithful are rightfully worried due to their team’s Premier League form, the Red Devils are in the same boat.

Man United and Tottenham find themselves 16th and 17th, respectively, in the top flight, which is embarrassing for both.

However, Postecoglou and Ruben Amorim still have the chance to have a fruitful end to the campaign and qualify for the Champions League.

While the Red Devils seem to be backing the Portuguese manager despite their struggles, Postecoglou’s future is uncertain. Kulusevski’s presence will arguably be key for Spurs if they hope to lift the trophy in Bilbao.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see Daniel Levy sack the former Celtic boss even if they win European silverware after what’s happened domestically.
