Tottenham ex-coach moots return to English football after talks
Tottenham could be set to face one of their former coaches in the Premier League next season.
Tottenham have nothing left to play for domestically ahead of the final Premier League game of the season, though their entire campaign hinges on the success they can find in the Europa League final against Manchester United.
Once their fate is decided, they will have a decision to make on the future of Ange Postecoglou, who looks likely to leave regardless.
However, while they have their own managerial situation to deal with this summer, developments elsewhere could mean that they go head-to-head with one of their former coaches.

Gus Poyet suggests Sunderland return could happen
Gus Poyet is a name synonymous with English football, with the Uruguayan having spent eight years in management or coaching in the country.
Starting as an assistant with Swindon Town, Poyet spent time at Leeds United before joining Tottenham in 2007 to become their assistant manager to Juande Ramos and, for a brief period of time, Harry Redknapp.
However, Poyet was loved in Sunderland and played a huge role in their miracle season, and when speaking to Mackem News, he suggested that a return could be in the cards in the future.

Courtesy of BetBrain, Poyet said: “When Juan Sartori [Sunderland chief] came into the club, I’m in contact constantly. So there’s always that contact. So when you are in contact all the time, there is more possibility with the club than if you weren’t. So we will see.”
Of course, Sunderland are now just 90 minutes away from making a return to the Premier League for the first time since 2016, with a date with Sheffield United at Wembley on 24 May.

Tottenham have their own managerial situation to attend to
The future of Postecoglou is certainly looking dull, and should he face the sack, it would come as little surprise given their horrendous position in the Premier League.
If he is to have any chance of saving his job, Spurs simply need to win the Europa League, though even that is unlikely to be enough to save him his job in North London.
Several names have already been linked with the Tottenham job if he does face the sack, showcasing just how busy these next few months are going to be.
