Tottenham dream is on as Mauricio Pochettino return hint drops after bombshell interview

Tottenham fans would like nothing more than for Mauricio Pochettino to return to the club, with rumbles over Thomas Frank’s future continuing.

Spurs’ 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on Saturday has caused even more supporters to turn against Frank, with the Dane now staring down the barrel of a potential sacking.

The Lilywhites had been on a four-game unbeaten run before the loss to Man United, but it was the performance at Old Trafford which felt like all the progress seen was just a facade.

In the midst of Frank’s uncertain future, Pochettino’s odds to become Spurs manager once more have crumbled, with him now a heavy favourite to return to N17.

Now, Tottenham fans could get what they’ve been crying out for since 2019, with the Argentine tipped for a summer return.

Jake Humphrey feels Mauricio Pochettino wants Tottenham return after interviewing him

Pochettino came close to greatness with Spurs on many occasions, but it was never meant to be.

The USA Men’s National Team head coach is set to lead his side into the 2026 World Cup this summer, but after he finishes up the job in North America, he could be headed for North London.

It’s already been said that if Frank were to be sacked at any stage this season, Joe Lewis would look to appoint an interim manager until the end of the season, where the Lilywhites could reassess in the summer.

The High Performance podcast released an interview with Pochettino on Sunday, which has stirred rumours about his return to Tottenham once more.

Jake Humphrey conducted the interview, and was later asked on X his thoughts on whether he feels the former Spurs boss may come back to the club in the summer.

He replied: “I sense he might.”

Nobody knows what was said off-camera apart from Humphrey’s, and he was the one who would have felt Pochettino’s energy in person.

Pochettino’s words confirmed there’s unfinished business at Spurs

Pochettino has spoken about his love for Tottenham publicly many times since he departed the club over six years ago.

But this interview felt a little different, as the 53-year-old seems destined to lift a piece of silverware for the Lilywhites in the near future.

While speaking on the High Performance podcast, Pochettino admitted that he still gets love from Spurs fans on the streets.

Pochettino said: “Still, the people on the street, the fans of Tottenham, really show the love and the appreciation, and I think that is why it’s so special.”

There’s a sense of unfinished business, and if he is to come back home, then it will surely be in the summer.
