Tottenham defender undergoes surgery as brand-new image surfaces
Tottenham have struggled with injuries this season, and that does not look to be changing in time for the UEFA Europa League final.
Ange Postecoglou has had a difficult season with Spurs, who remain 17th in the Premier League after a 2-0 defeat against Aston Villa at Villa Park on Friday (16 May).
If you ask him and several supporters, injuries are the main crux of the issue with several key players, including midfield maestro James Maddison, unavailable for the Europa League final.
However, as he has tried to, and often failed for large parts of the season, Postecoglou is going to have to come up with another solution if he wants to bring silverware back to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as the injuries show no signs of slowing down.

Maeson King becomes the latest Spurs player to undergo surgery
At this point, Spurs may as well open a hospital wing, as Lucas Bergvall and Dejan Kulusevski are also set to miss the final against Manchester United at the Estadio de San Mamés on Wednesday (21 May).
Pape Matr Sarr could also be considered a doubt after heading straight down the tunnel with a member of the medical staff at Villa Park.
In addition, Dane Scarlett recently underwent surgery for a groin issue, and it looks as though the injury troubles have extended to the academy, with King the latest Tottenham player to need an operation.

The 19-year-old revealed via his personal Instagram account on Friday (16 May) that he had undergone surgery now that the Under-21s’ season has concluded.
King posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed, alongside the caption, “Surgery went well, road to recovery”.
Postecoglou has his sights set on the final
Despite injuries to several players, Postecoglou will have his sights set on victory against Manchester United in Spain.
The 59-year-old has faced criticism after resting key players these past couple of weeks, but given the current weakened state of his team, the decision is understandable.
Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven were left out against Villa, and their lack of playing time has cast doubts about their match sharpness.
However, with both Spurs’ season and his future at the club on the line, Postecoglou will be doing everything in his power to win his first trophy with the Lilywhites, even if that means a couple more disappointing league results in the meantime.
With the Australian confident of winning silverware in his second season, Tottenham’s trophy drought may be coming to an end at last.
