Tottenham defender Cristian Romero receives Player of the Month nomination
A Tottenham player has been nominated for the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award for the third consecutive month, with Cristian Romero now in the running for October’s prize.
The list of nominees was announced via the Premier League’s official website (2 November) and includes Mohamed Salah, Declan Rice, Pedro Neto, Douglas Luiz and Bryan Mbeumo, as well as Romero.
James Maddison won the award in August before Son Heung-min picked it up in September, which means Spurs’ vice-captain has the opportunity to make it a Tottenham clean sweep so far this season.
Throughout October, the Argentine helped Spurs to clean sheets against Luton Town and Fulham before making 141 passes during their 2-1 win against Crystal Palace, the most on record by a Tottenham player in a Premier League match.
Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King told Tottenham News:
“He is a World Cup winner, and he has progressed this season. He has a manager who believes in him and a player alongside him who is the same quality as he is.
“Previously, he was one of those who had some very erratic performances, and I would be watching him waiting for him to get sent off, but he has steadied himself and now looks a very good centre-back.

“He is tough, no-nonsense and he can play. After his performances throughout October, I would say he is a deserving nominee for the award without a shadow of a doubt.
“These awards and nominations just typify the way the club is going at the moment. Confidence is sky high and hopefully it continues.”
In other Tottenham news, takeover rumours around the club have begun to swirl again.
