Tottenham confirm four player exits as official announcement made

Tottenham look set for a summer of change with four players becoming the first departures.

Despite winning the UEFA Europa League, Ange Postecoglou’s future at Tottenham remains uncertain.

In addition, Daniel Levy is set to make big changes behind the scenes as the North London club prepares for an upheaval this summer.

Plenty of players have been linked with exits, and Tottenham have now confirmed the first four departures of what promises to be a busy summer at Hotspur Way.

Sergio Reguilón among four players to leave Tottenham

With the season now over, Tottenham will already be looking ahead to the upcoming campaign and will no doubt be keen to improve on their worst-ever Premier League finish.

Therefore, it looks as though plenty of work needs to be done with the squad this summer, and that work already appears to be underway.

Tottenham need to improve in the Premier League next season

Tottenham confirmed on Saturday (31 May) that Fraser Forster, Alfie Whiteman and Reguilón have all departed the club following the conclusion of their contracts, while Timo Werner returns to RB Leipzig after his loan spell in North London.

Tottenham must now focus on incomings

Now that Tottenham have resolved the futures of some of their squad players, it is time to focus on incomings at Hotspur Way.

These exits are unlikely to be the last, with players such as Cristian Romero still linked with a move away. Therefore, Tottenham are going to need to sign players to replace those who leave.

However, until a decision is made on Postecoglou, planning for next season will be difficult. Spurs’ transfer targets will likely want to know who is going to be in charge before committing their futures to the Lilywhites.

As a result, Levy needs to act fast and make a decision on Postecoglou. Otherwise, Spurs could miss out on some key targets, and the squad could end up much lighter next season.
