Tottenham coach quits, said he wouldn’t sign contract under Postecoglou
Tottenham are set for an eventful summer with a lot of changes behind the scenes as well as in the first team.
Daniel Levy still has to make a decision on Ange Postecoglou’s future, despite it being over a week since the season ended.
Player contracts and new signings are all likely to hinge on whether or not the Australian will be in charge next season.

Ryan Mason quits Spurs and did not want to sign a new deal under Postecoglou
According to Sky Sports journalist Rob Dorsett, Ryan Mason, the now former Tottenham coach, did not want to talk about a new deal under Postecoglou.
That’s because he has penned a deal with West Brom to become their new manager.

His contract at Spurs was expiring at the end of the month, but he wanted to become a number one elsewhere.
He did have a chance at it when he was the interim manager of the North London club, but he never seemed to be in the conversation to become the next manager.
Tottenham and Mason could have a reunion at some point in the future
Tottenham will keenly feel the absence of Mason’s expertise on the touchline, given his deep connection to the club and proven coaching acumen.
As a former Spurs player and interim manager, his intimate understanding of the club’s culture and his tactical insights, honed under Mauricio Pochettino and Postecoglou, brought stability during turbulent times, notably in his 2021 and 2023 interim stints.
His progressive, attack-minded approach and ability to nurture young talents like Oliver Skipp made him a vital part of the coaching setup.
His departure to manage West Brom, a bold but expected step for the 33-year-old, signals ambition.
Should Mason succeed at West Brom, potentially guiding them to promotion, and excel at subsequent clubs, a future reunion as Tottenham’s manager is plausible.
His youth, familiarity with Spurs’ ethos and potential to emulate modern managers like Kieran McKenna make him a long-term prospect.
If he builds a strong managerial CV, Tottenham may look to him to lead a new era at N17.
