Tottenham ‘caught in dreadful post on Madueke’ ahead of Arsenal transfer

Noni Madueke is set to move to Tottenham’s biggest rivals, Arsenal, this summer.

At this stage in the year, the majority of the focus is on recruitment, and those plans at Tottenham have been accelerated over the last few days.

Mohammed Kudus’ signing was announced recently, with deals for Morgan Gibbs-White and Yoane Wissa also in the pipeline in North London.

However, on the other side of London, Arsenal look set to complete a deal to sign Madueke from Chelsea, and Tottenham have been caught in a howler of a social media post.

Madueke once played for Tottenham

Madueke‘s career at just 23 years old has already taken plenty of turns, with his pending move to Arsenal set to be the next one.

The forward started at the youth team at Crystal Palace, before going on to represent Tottenham and Chelsea, while also featuring in Holland.

Via GOAL’s Instagram, a post was shared to reflect his journey in football so far, with a picture of him wearing the shirts of the major London clubs, only it wasn’t him.

Instead, they used an image of current Sunderland star and former Spurs academy prospect Romaine Mundle, who instantly replied to the post with a question mark.

Fans were quick to point out the howler made in the post, which somehow slipped through the net.

Tottenham need more additions of their own

Kudus’ arrival is a big one, but there is still a lot of work to be done if Spurs are to make progress on what was a dismal domestic campaign last time out.

Thomas Frank will need sufficient depth across all areas of his squad, while also seeing his starting 11 improved if they are to compete in the Champions League, while also having a side strong enough for the other competitions.
