Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou nominated for third consecutive Manager of the Month award

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has been nominated for the Barclays Manager of the Month award for October, after winning the prize in August and September.

The four nominees were revealed via the Premier League’s official website (2 November) and include Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Aston Villa’s Unai Emery, as well as the Australian.

Postecgolou is aiming to win the award for a third consecutive month, a feat no manager has achieved at the beginning of their Premier League career.

He is the only manager of the four nominated to win all of his October matches, overseeing victories away at Luton Town and Crystal Palace, in addition to a home win against Fulham.

Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King told Tottenham News:

“It would be marvellous if Postecoglou could win the award again. He has broken various records in the opening ten games of the season and he has done it playing some attractive football.

“If he wins it, it is thoroughly deserved, however, the prize isn’t just for him, it is for the staff and the players as well.

“I did not expect him to make such an impressive start to life at Tottenham. I know a lot of people who said that he wouldn’t last until November, but he has certainly proved them wrong.

“I used to worry that a manager would win the award and the following month would be a disaster, although it is not happening with Postecoglou and long may it continue. Perhaps he will win all 12 Manager of the Month awards!”
