Tottenham ace James Maddison sends message to Dele Alli after latest transfer

James Maddison has sent his wishes to Dele Alli after the former Tottenham midfielder completed a transfer to Como.

Alli took to Instagram on Monday (20 January) to express his delight at joining Como on an 18-month deal, with Sergio Reguilon, Ryan Sessegnon and Kyle Walker-Peters among those to congratulate him.

Maddison did not shy away from showing his excitement as well, sharing the news on his own Instagram account and dropping a message under Alli’s post.

“Best of luck, my boy”, Maddison wrote along with a white heart emoji.

James Maddison and Tottenham stars want the best for Dele Alli

Alli has had a torrid time in his career in recent years and is hopeful of kick-starting his career at Como now.

The 28-year-old trained at Everton, who allowed him to continue his rehabilitation there despite his contract expiring in the summer, in the first half of the season.

The possibility of re-signing at Goodison Park was mooted, but he eventually chose to join Como with a view to linking up with player-turned-manager Cesc Fabregas.

It is evident from the Spurs players’ reactions that everyone at the North London club want to see the Englishman do well even if it is away from them.

It is worth noting that Maddison did not share the dressing room with Alli at Tottenham as the latter left in January 2022 – one and a half years before the former arrived.

Meanwhile, Serge Aurier also expressed his delight at Alli joining Como by sharing the news on his personal Instagram account.
