Tony Bellew backs Ange Postecoglou to explode back at Tottenham critics
Ange Postecoglou is under intense pressure at Tottenham.
The Australian has endured a difficult second season in North London, which has seen his side exit both domestic competitions and struggle in the Premier League.
European success is the former Celtic man’s only chance of ending Spurs’ 17-year trophy drought and keeping his job, with fans starting to turn.
However, Postecoglou has received support from an unlikely ally.

Postecoglou gets message of support from Bellew
If Tottenham fail to win the Europa League, the Australian will likely be dismissed from his post by Daniel Levy.
Former world champion boxer Tony Bellew has admitted that he hopes that Postecoglou secures the trophy and keeps his job.
In a post on his personal X account (19 March), he said: “I hope Ange wins the Europa League, just so he can have a right go back at all these critics going on at him for stating a fact that he always wins something in his second year.
“It would be great if he does. Go on, fella.”

Tottenham must keep faith with Postecoglou
Regardless of their dismal domestic form, Spurs must stick with Postecoglou while they are still in European competition and have the chance to end the infamous drought.
There is no point in sacking the manager while he is in the hunt for a trophy, despite the ongoing issues in N17 domestically, that has seen the club sitting 14th in the Premier League.
Premier League | Played | GD | Points |
13. Man United | 29 | -3 | 37 |
14. Tottenham | 29 | +12 | 34 |
15. Everton | 29 | -4 | 34 |
If he can win the first trophy for the Lilywhites since the League Cup triumph in 2008, all the negativity surrounding the campaign will be banished, and there will be a rare bit of positivity after years of failure.
The Australian can then build on that success with a Champions League berth secured for next season and a renewed optimism around the North London club.
However, if his side are knocked out at any point, then he will likely face the axe and Spurs will have to begin the process all over again with a new man at the helm.
He should be backed properly to bring success back to the club, as no guarantee that replacing him would bring the trophies that supporters crave.
The likes of Andoni Iraola or Marco Silva will likely find the exact same issues that have hamstrung Postecoglou if they are appointed in his place.
It’s all about patience right now, only after that will a guaranteed answer emerge on the future of both Tottenham and Postecoglou.
