‘Time to get rid’ – Yves Bissouma destroyed as Tottenham exit now tipped

Yves Bissouma is tipped to be on the way out of Tottenham quickly amid a stinging assessment of his latest difficulty at the club.

Bissouma’s Spurs contract expires in the summer and any chance of it being extended looks to have disappeared amid disciplinary problems under Thomas Frank.

The Tottenham board were said to be ready to trigger a one-year extension for Bissouma despite the Dane not using him at all this term, with the pair having got off to a bad start when the manager confirmed the Malian had been left out in August for persistent lateness.

Bissouma was then injured on international duty with Mali and in recent days was caught inhaling laughing gas, having already had to apologise for a “severe lack of judgement” last season for the same reason.

Simon Jordan blast ‘moron’ Tottenham man Bissouma

The frequency of the problems involving the former Brighton star in the past 18 months have led former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan to suggest Tottenham can’t trust him and must move him on.

Asked by Jim White live on talkSPORT how many chances “repeat offenders” should get Jordan replied: “How much did you pay for him? Look he’s obviously not very bright is he? Because you don’t put yourself in a position… I don’t know why anyone would want to do nitrous oxide…

“You’re a professional athlete, it has a debilitating effect, it doesn’t work for you, it works against you. And why you’d be in a position, if you were doing it, that people could get photographs of you is just beyond me how stupid you’d have to be…

“The idea that he gets himself in these situations is just ridiculous. Do it once, you’re a bit of a wally. Do it twice, you’re bordering on being a moron.

“Do it three times, then there’s clearly something wrong with your judgement and if you can’t be trusted to live your life in a certain way then you can’t be trusted to be a representative of a big football club and maybe it’s time to get rid.”

Bissouma extension and transfer fee gone

If Spurs were hoping to protect their investment to some degree by triggering Bissouma‘s option in order to bank a fee when he leaves then that plan has probably out of the window now.

The 29-year-old has been a solid performer at times since joining for at least £25 million three and a half years ago, and even last season under Ange Postecoglou he played a key role in securing the Europa League title, playing 90 minutes in both legs of the semi final and the final while making 44 appearances across all competitions.

But Frank clearly doesn’t rate him and amid injury and disciplinary problems his value to any potential takers isn’t going to be high.

A possible exit to Galatasaray fell through late in the summer window and it’s been downhill from there, with a possible suspension also on the cards now.

They are bound to be unhappy with him but if Bissouma has issues that need support then the club has a duty to provide it, although a parting of the ways looks certain sooner or later.
