Thomas Frank twist emerges as Ange Postecoglou sack decision made by Tottenham

Tottenham have reportedly made their decision with regards to sacking Ange Postecoglou.

The Spurs manager is under tremendous pressure at the North London outfit, given their dismal league form.

After 32 games, they have earned 37 points and find themselves in 16th place on the table.

Thomas Frank not expected to join Spurs

Brentford manager Thomas Frank has been linked with the Spurs job as he was viewed as a potential replacement for Postecoglou.

Under his stewardship, Brentford managed to achieve promotion to the Premier League and have now become a mainstay in the English top flight.

He’s clearly got them to punch above their weight and a lot of players have improved under his stewardship.

However, it does not seem that he will be moving to North London at the end of the season, according to Football Insider.

Mick Brown, a former scout at the Lilywhites, has shared that the Danish coach is not likely to be the next manager.

This comes after it’s been revealed that Tottenham will be sacking Postecoglou at the end of the season.

Tottenham must not consider Frank if Postecoglou is sacked

Spurs must avoid hiring Frank as their manager because, while he’s a competent coach, his track record doesn’t align with their urgent need for a manager who can deliver trophies and play attractive football.

Frank, Brentford’s head coach since 2018, has excelled in organising a pragmatic, counter-attacking style, leading the Bees to a 9th-place Premier League finish in 2022-23.

However, his approach prioritises efficiency over flair, with Brentford often relying on set-pieces and defensive solidity rather than the expansive, attacking football Tottenham fans demand.

Moreover, Frank has never won a major trophy and his experience is limited to smaller clubs like Brondby and Brentford.

Spurs, trophyless since 2008, need a proven winner like Simone Inzaghi or a stylist like Andoni Iraola, who’s been linked with the job, to end their drought and satisfy their ambitious fanbase.
