Thomas Frank sack potentially a day away at Tottenham as Lewis family come into line of fire

Thomas Frank’s dismissal at Tottenham could come sooner than many think after the latest update on the safety of his job.

Tottenham were beaten 3-2 by Bournemouth on Wednesday evening, but the Dane’s biggest mistake of the night had nothing to do with another dismal result in the Premier League.

Frank was pictured drinking from an Arsenal-branded cup before kick-off, a situation that has caused further damage to his already battered relationship with Spurs fans.

It’s barely believable that the former Brentford boss still has his job in North London, given the current managerial merry-go-round, but that could be about to change.

Thomas Frank could face sack after Aston Villa game

Tottenham take on Aston Villa in the FA Cup Third Round on Saturday, which gives them a chance to breed some much-needed positivity through the squad.

However, the Lilywhites face a Villa side that has won 12 of their last 14 games across all competitions, so will have to be at their very best to progress to the next round.

According to Riath Al-Samarrai in the Daily Mail, it could be the end for Frank at Tottenham if they lose to Unai Emery’s side.

It would mean that the Champions League would be their final chance for success this season, and on current form, even the most optimistic Spurs fan wouldn’t predict a European run.

Lewis family have three weeks to clear their names

Al-Samarrai also warned the Lewis family that they will be to blame if Tottenham fail to recruit properly in the January transfer window.

Mohammed Kudus is now out until April, joining James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Dominic Solanke in the treatment room, meaning that Frank is missing four crucial players.

The Spurs recruitment team have had months to prepare for the mid-season window, knowing that the likes of Maddison, Kulusevski, and Solanke were long-term absences.

If they are not replaced properly this month, then it demonstrates a lack of control and stability at the very top of the football club.

Frank deserves criticism for his horrific start at Tottenham, but if he is not given the tools to compete, then he is simply a lamb to slaughter.
