Thomas Frank meetings emerge at Tottenham after Postecoglou sack news

Tottenham supporters are braced for a pivotal week, which could spell the end for Ange Postecoglou in North London.

Daniel Levy has reportedly decided to sack Postecoglou despite the Australian leading the Lilywhites to Europa League glory.

Several names have been linked with the Spurs’ hotseat, including Premier League duo Thomas Frank and Marco Silva.

Indeed, it appears that Frank is being strongly considered by Levy amid details of contact between the two parties.

Tottenham line up Frank as Postecoglou replacement

With a decision on the former Celtic boss’s future imminent, Levy has been busy working on a replacement for Postecoglou

As well as Frank and Silva, Levy is believed to have held talks with Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi earlier in the season.

However, he has been the subject of a mammoth deal to bring him to Saudi Arabia, which he is considering.

Frank is currently the frontrunner for the Tottenham job, having been a raving success for fellow London side Brentford.

The Dane remains a leading candidate to replace Postecoglou at Hotspur Way, according to talkSPORT’s Ben Jacobs (2 June).

He and fellow journalist Alex Crook understand that several meetings have taken place between the two camps, while a decision on Postecoglou is expected this week.

Frank is the correct choice if Postecoglou leaves Spurs

If Postecoglou is given the boot by Levy, then Brentford’s boss would be a wise pick for the Lilywhites.

The 51-year-old has cemented the Bees as an established Premier League force and almost guided them to Europe.

That feat would have been laughed at all those years ago as Brentford played League Two football in front of the Griffin Park faithful.

Frank also has a superb record of developing players, just look at Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa.

Indeed, Mbeumo has been linked with a move to Tottenham, which could be supported by Frank heading the same way.

Furthermore, the Dane is the kind of level-headed character needed in front of the feisty press, whom Postecoglou has come to blows with.

Frank has been an admirable servant to Brentford, but if Spurs come knocking, it will likely spark the end of his West London romance.
