Southampton fans brilliantly troll Arsenal with Tottenham chant

Tottenham supporters were able to continue their celebrations on the final day of the Premier League season on Sunday.

Four days on from victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final, Spurs hosted Brighton and Hove Albion in North London.

The match against Brighton was secondary, with supporters aware of just how bad this campaign has been domestically speaking.

However, victory in Bilbao has undoubtedly lifted the gloom, and it gives Tottenham an opportunity to rile Arsenal fans into the summer and beyond.

In fact, supporters of other clubs have also taken delight in winding up their Arsenal counterparts, as was the case at St Mary’s on 25 May.

Tottenham fans will love Southampton chant

Arsenal were in action against already-relegated Southampton on the final day, with their title aspirations having been ended a long time ago.

The Gunners will end the season trophyless once again, meaning Tottenham have won more trophies than Mikel Arteta‘s men over the past five years.

And Southampton fans were quick to remind Arsenal supporters of that fact during their contest.

As per the Daily Echo‘s live match blog (25 May, 4:25pm), Southampton supporters chanted “Tottenham Hotspur, they’ve won more than you” to the travelling fans.

Spurs have one up on Arsenal thanks to Europa League glory

There has been plenty of debate regarding who has had the better season between Arsenal and Tottenham.

While there is no denying Tottenham’s Premier League season has been utterly abysmal, lifting silverware has papered over the cracks.

Arsenal fans can protest all they like that it’s ‘only’ the Europa League, but it is a major honour won – something the Gunners have not been able to do for half-a-decade now.

Tottenham fans will love having one up on their fierce rivals, and it is great to see fans of other clubs hitting Arsenal while they are down.
