Son Heung-min exit: Tottenham insiders share bombshell transfer update

Tottenham attacker Son Heung-min’s form has led to the hierarchy have strong feelings over his future at the club.

The South Korean’s contract at the club runs out at the end of next season with extension talks having been stalled.

This season, the 32-year-old has not set the league alight for Ange Postecoglou’s side this season, which has seen doubts emerge about his standing at the club.

Tottenham insiders justify club’s decision to withdraw from talks with Son Heung-min

Son has been a favourite at the North London outfit for years, being adored by the club as well as the fans.

While his numbers may not look that bad, given the standards he’s set and the lack of quality goal scorers at Spurs, it is a tad underwhelming and it could result in Son losing his spot in the eleven.

TBR now claim that club insiders feel he’s likely to leave in the summer with Spurs taking the option to preserve his value with an extension ahead of a potential sale.

The 32-year-old’s representatives have not held fresh talks over an extension at the North London outfit.

Spurs’ hierarchy stepped in at the end of 2024 to call off negotiations as they’ve had doubts over his longevity.

Now, the club are eyeing left-wing options which is a clear indicator that Son is not in their plans going forward.

Son Heung-min could still play in Europe’s top five leagues

While there are links to Saudi Arabian clubs, it’s pretty early to write off Son’s involvement in Europe’s top five leagues.

He may not be at his lethal best in the Premier League, but that has a lot to do with the pace and physicality of the league.

If he joins a big club like Bayern or PSG, he could easily score goals for fun and be among their best players for the next two or three years.

While fans are unlikely to be happy to see him leave, if a decent transfer fee is generated, they will understand the hierarchy’s decision to cash in on him this summer.
