Simon Jordan reveals what Tottenham chief Levy told him in upcoming documentary
Simon Jordan has revealed that Daniel Levy is prioritising winning a trophy at Tottenham, following an admission in an upcoming documentary.
Supporters at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium have been crying out for silverware for some time now and many questions have been asked of the Chairman and his strategy at the club.
The appointment of Ange Postecoglou pleased many, with the hopes that his reputation of winning a trophy in his second season would come to fruition.
The Lilywhites sit 10th in the league, the result of some inconsistent form but are set to take on Manchester United on Thursday [19 December] for a place in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
Writing in the Daily Mail, Jordan suggested the club would be going all out in their tie as he said: “Their chairman Daniel Levy is criticised as being only about the money, but he will tell you the purpose of profit is to invest in the squad in order to redevelop the football club.
“I pointedly asked him for a television documentary that will soon be released: Would you rather have a small profit and win the Premier League or a big profit and finish fourth?
“He said he’d take the prize and less money – he knows he has to win something.”
Daniel Levy needs to win a trophy at Tottenham
Levy often finds himself receiving criticism at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium due to the team now having anything to show for their good players, strong managerial appointments or great facilities in a new stadium.
Although there is no doubt that the chairman has got them in a strong, sustainable position in English football, something that is not to be taken for granted, it is a question of what and where is next for the Lilywhites.
Not all of the blame can come to Levy’s door with Postecoglou’s insistence on playing a certain style of football one of the reasons why they find themselves in inconsistent form in the league.

However, supporters are growing restless and with a Carabao Cup quarter-final coming up, surely everyone at the North London club knows how important it is to go into this one with full force, seeking for a final and a trophy.
Levy has done well to get the club into the position they find themselves in but, as he knows, a trophy is what will make all his work count.
