Simon Jordan hits out as incorrect Tottenham claim slapped with X community note
Tottenham supporters will have the last laugh over Simon Jordan after his claims were struck with a community note on X.
The former Crystal Palace owner shared an image which claimed that Spurs would still not have won anything if Manchester City were stripped of their titles due to their ongoing legal feud with the Premier League.
The Lilywhites have been on the receiving end of numerous jokes after exiting the Carabao Cup and FA Cup in the same week, which means that their wait for a first trophy since 2008 will continue to next season unless they win the Europa League.
However, Jordan has been proved wrong and has made a fool out of himself in the process on this occasion.
Simon Jordan Tottenham claim factually incorrect
A community note on the platform revealed that the talkSPORT host was mistaken, Tottenham faced Manchester City in the 2021 Carabao Cup final, so would be awarded a trophy if Manchester City were stripped of titles.
Replying to the correction on his personal X account, Jordan said:
“I have been suitably admonished as this is factually incorrect.
“Although some would say never let the facts get in the way of a good story (not me of course)
“All those getting their panties in a bunch, pack it in. It’s a joke”
Tottenham trophy joke comes back to haunt Jordan
A simple bit of research would have spared the former Eagles owner’s blushes and the fury of Spurs supporters that he will now endure and rightfully so.
It is obviously frustrating for the Lilywhites faithful that their club have not won a trophy for so long, which is one of the reasons that some fans are protesting about Daniel Levy ahead of the Manchester United clash (16 February).
I have been suitably admonished as this is factually incorrect ..,

Although some would say never let the facts get in the way of a good story (not me of course 😜)
All those getting their panties in a bunch … pack it in .. it’s a joke 🫵🏻🤌 https://t.co/N29Had8PJo
However, it may be even more frustrating to constantly hear misinformed pundits trying to get a rise from the fanbase without having the knowledge to back up their claims.
The manner of the cup exits, in a four-day window will not reflect well on Levy or Ange Postecoglou, and the North London club needs to turn results around rapidly to keep supporters on board with the long-term vision.
If they fail to do so and do not go all the way to the Europa League final, it will be hard to justify keeping either of them around in N17.
