Ryan Mason contract set to expire, Tottenham coach No 1 target for Championship club
Ryan Mason is poised for his first permanent managerial position after emerging as a No.1 target for a Championship club.
The assistant coach played an important role in Tottenham’s season becoming a Europa League winner under boss Ange Postecoglou on Wednesday (21 May).
After stepping in on several occasions to dictate from the sidelines, Mason has caught the eye of numerous clubs to take over next season and has emerged as the frontrunner for one Championship side.

Mason to decide Tottenham future amid interest from West Brom
With the 2024/25 season firmly behind him, Mason will have the chance to decide where he wants to end up next season.
However, the 33-year-old is out of contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer and has not yet confirmed his decision with the North London club.

According to the Express and Star (27 May), while an appointment for Carlos Corberan in January did not materialise, West Brom have once again identified Mason as their lead candidate to take over from Tony Mowbray.
Now that the Premier League has concluded, the Spurs No.2 is expected to decide his future imminently to allow the Baggies time to move on with pre-season planning.

Postecoglou’s future at Tottenham is still uncertain
Postecoglou has overseen a season of extremes at Tottenham, winning the Europa League while also enduring the club’s worst-ever Premier League campaign.
While not what most at the North London club would have hoped for, a defeat in the final may have been easier for Levy, who is now tasked with an impossible choice.
The Australian has proven that he has what it takes to win at Spurs, but a 17th-place finish in the league is unacceptable for one of the biggest clubs in England.
However, with the summer transfer window on the horizon, the hours are counting down for Levy to decide before Tottenham misses out on all the best buys on the market.
