Roy Keane in shock running to make management return amid major Tottenham news

Roy Keane could be set to swap the Sky Sports studio for the dugout after recent Tottenham news.

The Irishman started his career in management at the Stadium of Light, where he won the Championship title with Sunderland.

Keane hasn’t been a first-team manager since his time in charge of Ipswich Town came to an end in 2011, spending time as an assistant coach with Ireland, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest after his reign at Portman Road.

Keane now works as a pundit and commentator for Sky Sports. However, it appears as though the 53-year-old is in the running to make a shock return to management after a Tottenham update.

Keane in the running to replace Thomas Frank at Brentford

Thomas Frank has been announced as the new Tottenham Head Coach, with negotiations speeding up after Spurs struck an agreement to bring Frank’s assistant coach Justin Cochrane to Hotspur Way.

This means Frank will need replacing at Brentford, with Keane now in the running.

In what would be a blockbuster appointment, Bet365 have Keane at 8/1 to succeed Frank in West London.

Keane’s appointment may leave a few Brentford supporters scratching their heads, but it is sure to bring in thousands of viewers each week.

Postecoglou could become Brentford’s next boss

While all the focus is on Tottenham and Frank, Brentford also need a brand-new manager of their own.

After his dismissal from Tottenham, Postecoglou is in the running to replace the man who has replaced him.

Postecoglou may seem like the obvious pick when compared to Keane. The Australian is a serial-winner who promised to win Spurs silverware in his second season, and to the shock of most football fans, kept his word.

Meanwhile, Keane has little experience as a manager and has been out of the game for almost a decade.

However, many doubted Keane when he initially took over at Sunderland, and he did guide the Black Cats to the Premier League. Therefore, while both options will be raising a few eyebrows, neither can be ruled out just yet.
