Roberto De Zerbi ‘perfect’ for Tottenham after Thomas Frank sack latest
Roberto De Zerbi has been touted as a perfect replacement for Thomas Frank.
Frank is under serious pressure, and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has become increasingly toxic during his reign.
Many Tottenham fans want Frank gone, but the board has continued to back him ahead of their Champions League clash with Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday.
De Zerbi has been linked with becoming the Tottenham manager, most recently in the summer when Ange Postecoglou was dismissed.
The former Brighton manager is loving life at Marseille, but Tim Sherwood believes that he could be tempted by a move back to the Premier League.

Tim Sherwood backs Roberto De Zerbi to succeed at Tottenham
De Zerbi ended up rejecting Tottenham’s approach in the summer, opting to stay in France instead.
The Marseille manager would be a significant upgrade on Frank, given the fact that he’s known for his entertaining style of football.
Speaking live on Sky Sports News on Monday morning, Sherwood named the Italian as his ideal replacement for Frank.
He said: “If you could pick a permanent manager, I would go for De Zerbi. For the style of play, I think he’s absolutely perfect for what the Tottenham fans want.
“They always play on the front foot, and he has an attacking style of football.

“My only issue is that he can sometimes be a bit prickly. I’m not sure if it will work in the boardroom.
“I think it’s a realistic move, but he would need to know how the club is being run and if he is in charge of the recruitment.”
De Zerbi has impressed since his move to France in July 2024, where he guided Marseille to a second-placed finish in Ligue 1 in his first season in charge.
His man-to-man pressing system has been incredibly effective throughout his career, and Spurs could do with a manager who plays an aggressive style of football.
However, it’s his time at Brighton that Spurs fans will be most familiar with.
De Zerbi’s achievements with Brighton make him perfect for Tottenham
De Zerbi took charge of the Seagulls in September 2022 and instantly guided them to a historic season.
Brighton finished sixth in the Premier League with a total of 62 points in the 2022-23 season, and they were one of the most entertaining sides in the top flight.
Despite not having a natural goalscorer, they had several players chip in with key contributions.
Their most notable result that season was a 3-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates to end their title hopes in May 2023.
The Italian head coach is a maverick, and while he could pose significant demands when it comes to recruitment, he is certainly a figure that all Tottenham fans could get behind.
