Richard Keys calls out Tottenham statement after Postecoglou sack news
Daniel Levy has finally put Ange Postecoglou out of his Tottenham misery.
The Australian was sacked on Friday (6 June) after weeks of speculation over his future in North London.
The 59-year-old brought the Lilywhites’ first trophy in 17 years with the Europa League title, but a dismal domestic campaign has ultimately cost him his job.
Spurs finished 17th in the Premier League, losing 22 matches, in their worst-ever domestic season.

Tottenham slammed for Postecoglou statement
Levy has decided that change is necessary for the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium outfit going forward, despite Postecoglou ending the trophy drought.
Spurs released a statement (6 June) confirming the decision to move on from the former Australian defender after a review of the campaign.
It stated: “Following a review of performances and after significant reflection, the Club can announce that Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties.”
BeIN Sports presenter Richard Keys slammed the statement in a post on his personal X account, saying: “This isn’t a surprise. Ange must’ve known there wouldn’t be a season three – but this statement is classless.”

Postecoglou sack is extremely harsh from Tottenham
Postecoglou famously said that season three is better than season two, but he will not have the chance to make that a reality.
It is a very harsh decision to part ways with the ex-Celtic man, especially after he won the first trophy since the League Cup in 2008 and therefore qualified for the Champions League.
Many observers and fans felt that he had redeemed himself with the trophy win and his tactical adaptability towards the end of the campaign.
He should have been backed in the transfer market to see how far he could have taken the squad, but he will not get the chance.
He has formed a bond with the players, with Pedro Porro sending an emotional goodbye message after his exit was announced and it remains to be seen how the departure affects the squad.
If they fail to get the next appointment correct, then Levy will come in for a significant amount of flak for the decision that has been made, which could spell trouble given his tumultuous relationship with supporters.
Thomas Frank is the current favourite for the vacancy, but that would be a huge risk given that he has no experience managing in European competition and at a club the size of the Lilywhites.
