Rangers new manager: Odds slashed on ex-Tottenham boss replacing Ferguson
Tottenham supporters could soon see a familiar face on British shores after new developments at Rangers.
The Gers have excelled under interim boss Barry Ferguson since Philippe Clement was dismissed from the role but he may not be considered for the permanent role.
The search for a replacement for the Belgian continues at Ibrox, and a former Spurs boss is amongst the contenders despite currently being employed by another club.

Jose Mourinho odds plummet for Rangers role
Jose Mourinho’s last stint in Britain was with Tottenham but he was relieved of his duties just a week before the 2020/21 League Cup final.
Despite his spell in the dugout lasting just 17 months, he is still admired in North London although the end of his reign did leave a sour taste with some supporters.
He has since enjoyed time out of the spotlight of the UK media with the likes of Roma and Fenerbahce but could be set to make a remarkable return to British shores.
A number of high-profile options have been linked with the Ibrox vacancy, and Mourinho was initially an outsider at odds 25/1.
However, he is now just 16/1 with Bet 365 with only Steven Gerrard, Ferguson and Russell Martin ahead of him in the bookmakers odds.

Mourinho will not be returning to Tottenham
One thing that is for sure is that Mourinho will not be returning to Spurs anytime soon, that ship has definitely sailed.
The Portuguese manager is not as highly rated as he once was, with his stints in the dugout often causing more chaos than success.
| Stats (League 2024/25) | Mourinho | Postecoglou |
| Won | 19 | 10 |
| Drawn | 5 | 4 |
| Lost | 2 | 15 |
| Points | 62 | 34 |
His fallouts with owners and abrasive nature means that Daniel Levy would not accept him back in North London even if Ange Postecoglou is sacked.
Spurs would be better off with an up-and-coming manager like Andoni Iraola or Marco Silva rather than Mourinho, who may reinvigorate the fan base but would not have much impact on results on the pitch.
Postecoglou may still keep his job if he can guide the Lilywhites to the Europa League trophy and end the 17-year trophy drought that is haunting the club.
