Postecoglou Tottenham sack verdict shared as ‘massive’ claim emerges
Ange Postecoglou is under some serious pressure at Tottenham after the poor form his team have been in this season.
The Australian has been long linked with an exit from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but he, surprisingly, hasn’t recieved his marching orders from Daniel Levy just yet.
Spurs have suffered several injuries this season and even though players are now on their way back towards full fitness, it could end up being too little too late.
Speaking ahead of their Premier League clash against Manchester United on 19 February, Clinton Morrison shared his thoughts on where the future of the former Celtic boss should lie.
Clinton Morrison shares Ange Postecoglou Tottenham sack verdict
Spurs and Man United have been two of the worst-performing teams in the Premier League this season.
The two ‘big-six’ clubs currently occupy 12th and 15th place in the top-flight table after Spurs beat the Red Devils 1-0 in their Premier League clash on Sunday.
And, speaking on BBC Radio Five Live (16 February, 15:02pm), Morrison shared his thoughts on whether Spurs should relieve the manager of his duties.
“If Manchester United wanted to bring in Ruben Amorim, they should have made that decision at the start of the season,” he said.
“That’s what I say with Ange Postecoglou, judge him when he has all his players back, I know sometimes people can say it’s an excuse.
“Listen, Man United have got key players out this afternoon but when you have eight or nine first-team regulars who start out of your team, you take that from any other Premier League team, they would be struggling too.
“I think it has been poor under Ange, this is a massive game for Tottenham, it’s a bigger game for Tottenham this afternoon than it is Man United.
“I think Ange has to stay for now and judge him when all the players are back.”
Daniel Levy has committed to Ange Postecoglou
Even though Tottenham may have managed to finish in the top eight of the Europa League, it’s nowhere near enough to make up for the below-par form they’ve shown this season.
However, after the winter transfer window has been and gone, it seems that Levy has committed himself to the Australian until at least the end of the term because, at this moment in time, it’s unclear how much difference a new manager would make.

Levy backed the Australian in the winter window by bringing in new signings such as Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel.
And, even though the winter arrivals have helped bolster Spurs’ ranks, it still feels like more should have been done.
However, one thing it did show is that Levy is willing to stick by his manager, especially given the amount of slack he’s given him this term due to first-team injuries to players such as Micky van de Ven.
Only time will tell what the future holds for Tottenham but at the moment, it’s hard to see Postecoglou being sacked, especially since he managed to triumph over Man United on Sunday.
