Postecoglou sends message to Levy with one player already set to join Tottenham
Daniel Levy has a big decision to make on the future of Ange Postecoglou, and the Tottenham boss has made his feelings clear.
Just days after lifting the UEFA Europa League trophy at the Estadio de San Mamés (21 May), Tottenham confirmed a 17th-place finish in the Premier League as Brighton handed Postecoglou’s side their 22nd defeat in the competition this season.
After Dominic Solanke had fired Spurs in front from the penalty spot before the break, the Seagulls responded emphatically in the second half to seal a 4-1 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (25 May).
Following a season of extremes, Levy could look to replace Postecoglou. However, that didn’t stop the Australian sending a clear transfer message to his employer after the defeat on Sunday.

Luka Vušković to join Tottenham as Postecoglou speaks out
Following their Europa League success, Tottenham will play in the UEFA Champions League next season, despite finishing just one spot above the relegation zone in the Premier League.
As a result, the North London club will be looking to strengthen their squad for the new season, with 18-year-old Vušković already set to join Tottenham this summer.
However, Postecoglou emphasised after the defeat to Brighton that Spurs need to add some experienced players to their ranks.
2024/25 | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Minutes |
Luka Vuskovic | 36 | 7 | 3 | 2.965′ |
The Australian said, “If we do some good business in the transfer market, obviously bring some experience in, I’m not talking about age, I’m talking about players who have played at this level and can help the team, then I’ve got no doubt we can make the impact we want.
“So I think every club that gets into the Champions League sees it as an opportunity to strengthen with experience, is the right word, but players who have played at that level, who are going to be comfortable at that level, not players who are stepping up to that level. That’s the difference.”

Tottenham should give Postecoglou the players he needs
If Postecoglou continues with Tottenham, he must be backed in the summer transfer window.
The 59-year-old has proven that he can lead Spurs to European glory if given the chance. However, with the Champions League a notable step-up from the Europa League, Postecoglou will need as many resources at his disposal.
If Levy wants Tottenham to compete for all trophies next season, it is imperative to not only strengthen the squad but also bring in players the manager wants. However, first, a definitive decision must be made on Postecoglou.
