Postecoglou sack: Tottenham told what to do with Ange amid ‘Backwards’ verdict
Alan Hutton has urged Tottenham to give Ange Postecoglou more time to turn things around at Tottenham.
The Spurs boss has found himself under heaps of pressure as his side sit 15th in the Premier League and are without a win in six top-flight games.
With a game against relegation-threatened Leicester City on Sunday (26 January), failure to win could leave real question marks over where the North London outfit go.
However, Hutton has urged his former side to give Postecoglou the time to fix things as he was quoted by the Sunday Mirror (26 January, page 65) as saying: “They’ve gone backwards, but I hope they stick by Ange. I like him as a manager and I like what he wants to achieve in that formation, but it won’t happen overnight.
“This is the kind of guy Spurs fans wanted in, Ange has been stubborn but the injuries have killed them.”
Ange Postecoglou needs to turn things around at Tottenham quickly
It is hard to judge Postecoglou at Tottenham this season given that, as Hutton says, there have been countless injuries in the squad which has left the boss with little moving space when it comes to team selection.
Furthermore, the Australian has been looking to change a lot of the wider culture at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium which was naturally going to take time to be delivered.
However, a lot of the frustration with Spurs this term has come from the manager’s inability to adapt his style of play to suit the players he has available which has often led to defeat.

You can see why Spurs could benefit from sticking by their current manager at this stage and there is a sense that he could get his side playing some great football.
That being said, if results don’t start to pick up soon and the dismal form continues, Daniel Levy may not be left with much choice but to change things up.
