Postecoglou sack: Tottenham told name of instant upgrade

Ange Postecoglou’s future continues to look bleak at Tottenham following their latest defeat in the Premier League.

Chelsea handed Tottenham a 1-0 loss at Stamford Bridge on Thursday (3 April) as Enzo Fernandez’s header proved to be the difference between the two teams.

But it was the manner of the performance that left a lot of people worried as the Blues dominated the game from start to finish.

Spurs have now lost 16 games in the Premier League this season, which is over half of their 30 fixtures in what has been a dismal season.

Tottenham fans have grown frustrated with the Australian coach and the lack of consistent results that the team have been able to carve out.

Spurs are 14th in the Premier League at the moment, but could drop down to 16th after this weekend as they’re level on points with the two teams below them.

Tottenham might have a replacement for Ange Postecoglou

It is believed that Daniel Levy is already lining up potential replacements for Postecoglou, as Fulham’s Marco Silva is being viewed as a potential option.

Levy set Postecoglou the task of qualifying for Europe this season, and the only way he can now achieve that is by winning the Europa League.

It is going to be a tough task for Postecoglou to achieve given the poor form of his team this season, and former player Jamie O’Hara has cheekily thrown his name in the frame, claiming he’d be an instant upgrade.

During his latest appearance on talkSPORT (3 April), the former Spurs midfielder said: “I reckon I could take over and do a better job, seriously.

“You can’t just keep someone in because you go, ‘who are we going to get in?’ What do you mean? It’s Tottenham Hotspur.”

Postecoglou is ignoring the fans

While the result wasn’t what anyone associated with the Lilywhites wanted against their local rivals, fans were more frustrated with Postecoglou’s post-game antics.

The Spurs boss was spotted staying on the halfway line after the final whistle, refusing to go toward the away fans to thank them for their support alongside his players.

Postecoglou also appeared to cup his ear toward them during the game as well, further souring the relationship he has.

This isn’t the first time things have flared up between the manager and supporters, though, as Postecoglou argued with fans after their loss to Fulham as well, which hasn’t helped his case.
